Male Orca Whale surfacing and exposing his Dorsal Fin in the mist
This Orca whale was sighted in the frigid Pacific Ocean waters of the Broughton Archipelago in Kwakwaka'wakw territory near Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Canada. I was in a boat travelling when we observed a pod of Orcas ahead of us in the mist. The Captain slowed the vessel when this male surfaced near us and I was able to get this image. I used a high resolution digital camera with a 200 to 500 mm telephoto lens to capture this moment.
